Siouxland Unidad Latina is very excited to
announce our first Cinco De Mayo Scholarship Awards
Ceremony. We will be awarding four $1,000 scholarships to
worthy Latino students from the tri-state area on May 2nd at
the Tyson Headquarters in Dakota Dunes. For more information

The Cinco De Mayo Festival takes place on
Saturday, May 3rd, at the Long Lines Family Center in Sioux
City, Iowa.
The event will kick-off with the traditional
parade down Dakota Avenue in South Sioux City, Nebraska at
11a.m. The celebration continues at Long Lines at noon.
Cinco de Mayo is a date to celebrate the rich culture we
share with our neighbors to the south. Whether you live in
Mexico or in the United States, the Hispanic lifestyle is
rich with tradition. Everyone likes a party or fiesta - so
put on your party clothes and get ready to explore the roots
of the Hispanic culture by learning more about this day and
the history of Mexico.
The day is full of music, dancing, food, all
the sights and sounds of South of the Border! The festival
runs from 12 – 6:00 p.m. at the Long Lines Family Center.
This free family event offers something for everybody,
including a Kids Village with crafts, games, magic and
puppet shows, a Health Fair with free medical screenings and
information, and lots of entertainment It will be a day to
remember.
